24 of April. From 01 may increases the cost of tourist visas to Egypt for $5. This was reported by Hisham Zazu – Minister of tourism of Egypt. He said that tourists continue to pay for the entry is not $15 and $20. However, he expressed confidence that the flow of tourists increase in the cost of visas are not significantly affected, because visas in Egypt remain among the cheapest in the world.
This increase was not unexpected. A year ago, the Egyptian government has announced plans to increase the cost of entry from November 1 from $15 to $25. These measures were justified by the fact that Egypt must lead the system of issuing visas directly at the border and in the consulates abroad into a single system. Earlier on arrival, the tourists could directly at the border to acquire the brand for $15 without any additional securities. In order to remove this inconsistency and unify the entire system of issuing visas, it was decided to unify visa fee.
However we will remind that in November, increasing the cost of visas has not happened. The increase in the cost of visas was postponed to may 2014.
In the end, the visa will cost tourists more for only $5, not $10 as originally planned.

The number of foreign tourists who visited Egypt during the first two months of 2014 decreased by 29% and amounted to 1.3 million compared to the same period last year. In may it is expected influx of tourists, including from Russia.
