system autopilot, robots will replace drivers

14 of May. Coming are the days when the driver will be replaced with robots. And the question here is not about "Skynet" or DSG, just the driver will soon replace the autopilots, which are supposed to make the movement faster, but at the same time, and more secure. Such a system will be able to analyze the level of congestion, and depending on him to adjust the route of the trip. To the emergence of such a system are prepared, even those manufacturers who previously denied the possibility of the emergence of autopilots.

Analysts of IDATE research center, after analyzing the current state of the auto industry, concluded that by 2018 the number of cars that will be equipped with mobile means of communication and will "communicate" with each other, will increase several times. Analysts say that the number of such vehicles will reach 420 million units.

Communication system is an integral part of future autopilots. Previously, experts Volvoи Google, who are working in this direction, noted that cars must be able to communicate with each other. Not only information about speed and sudden maneuvers, but also on the number of passengers in the cabin. The transmission Protocol in this case is not so important.

However, automakers looking to equip their models of communication systems, may soon be faced with legislative changes. In February of this year, the European Committee for standardization and the European Institute of standardization in telecommunications presented their experience in the field ConnectedCar ("Related vehicles").

According to their idea, all the manufacturers exhibited their models in Europe, will have to equip their models communication protocols for data exchange. The speech in this case goes about the elementary devices (such as a GPS module) and an additional unit that is sending the coordinates.

Equipping all or at least most cars means of communication can facilitate the task of the Volvo, which is planning to perform large-scale in the history of the automotive industry test their autopilot. The Swedes are planning to test the system under real conditions on the streets of Gothenburg. It is planned to conduct a simultaneous test of 100 cars equipped with this technology. The route length is over 50 km away.

Eric Coelingh (Volvo technician) said that the aim of the project is the creation of a system that will be able not only to respond to the constantly changing traffic situation, but will be able to get out of the traffic flow and find a place to Park if the driver for any reason is unable to continue driving.

The Volvo project is truly Grand, it was approved by the Swedish government and takes an active part in it. Besides the Swedish government in the project participate VolvoCarGroup, Swedish transport Agency, Ministry of transport of Sweden, the municipality of Gothenburg and the company LindholmenSciencePark.
