Ukraine's new President announced the policy measures it plans to take to resolve the situation in the South-East of the country. His initiatives have received the endorsement of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

Steps to reconciliation

Voicing his inaugural speech, Poroshenko promised to establish peaceful relations with the South-East of Ukraine, but to talk with armed men, he refused.

Volodymyr Fesenko (Ukrainian political scientist), commenting on the speech of the new President, said that Poroshenko "expressed his readiness for peace and negotiations, but not with all, but only with those who believes Donbass as part of Ukraine".

In order to negotiate with the South-East of the country, the President of Ukraine plans to hold early elections of local authorities. In his speech, addressed to the inhabitants of the South-East of the country, Poroshenko switched to Russian language.

The new President of Ukraine announced his intention to visit in person soon Donbass. However Serhiy Taruta (Governor of the Donetsk people's Republic) believes that in the near future such a visit is unlikely. "To Poroshenko arrived, it is necessary to guarantee him safety, but this cannot yet be made. You will need to close the borders".

No negotiations

The self-proclaimed leadership of Donetsk and Lugansk national republics stated about the impossibility to negotiate with the new President.

"What kind of negotiations you are talking, if immediately after the inauguration Poroshenko, our cities had been bombed from systems "Hail"? The intensity of the shelling of cities has grown significantly," said Miroslav Rudenko (commander of the national militia of Donbass).

Miroslav Rudenko said that the leadership of the breakaway people's republics have repeatedly voiced their demands to the authorities to start negotiations: "the Cessation of hostilities, withdrawal of troops from the territory of the republics."

All the time after the inauguration of Poroshenko does not stop shelling of cities in southeastern Ukraine. Military firing on innocent civilians, shelled residential houses, hospitals, schools, kindergartens.

Biography Of Petro Poroshenko

Petro Poroshenko is a businessman, a billionaire, may 25 elected the fifth President of Ukraine.

Since 1998, Poroshenko was the people's Deputy of Ukraine and from February to September 2005 – Secretary-General of the national security Council and defense of Ukraine. From 2007 to 2012 he headed the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine. From 2009 to 2010 he was Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine. From March to November 2012 he was the Minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine.

Born Petro Poroshenko 26.09.1965 in the town of Bolgrad. In 1989, Peter graduated from the Kiev state University majoring in "international economic relations", and became master of sports in judo.

After graduation, Poroshenko started his own business selling cocoa beans. In 1990-ies Poroshenko acquired several confectionary plants which he later United into the group of "Roshen". Established confectionery company made him the richest man in Ukraine and tied him the nickname "chocolate king".

Currently the business Poroshenko extends not only to confectionery company, but also covers several bus and car factories (Corporation "Bogdan", Lutsk automobile plant), shipyard "Lenin's smithy" and a number of other enterprises.

Poroshenko is married and he and his wife have four children: Olexiy (born 1985), Eugenia (born in 2000), Alexander (born in 2000), Michael (born in 2001). In 2014, Poroshenko was born grandson.

The Maidan and Poroshenko

During Euromaidan, Poroshenko actively supported the protesters. He could often be seen at the Maidan. The media reported that Poroshenko is sponsoring the Maidan. In his interview to the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" Petro Poroshenko admitted that the "sponsored revolution water, food, firewood."
