21 of May. The Korean company LG showed a prototype 55-inch OLED panel, with a thickness of only 1 mm, and weight – 1.9 kg. For LG is a breakthrough, as previous models of similar dimensions were a thickness of 4.3 mm.
The output of this model will permit to renounce the use of brackets for TVs. LG offers to mount the panels just on the magnetic substrate, which greatly simplifies the process of mounting the TV. This, in turn, will allow you to easily move the TV from room to room. The only caveat is that the unit with the TV remote, but this problem is easily solved with the help of platforms for wireless connection.
However, the timing of serial production of these models, representatives of the company did not specify. However, it is unlikely that such a significant event, the company will delay, because competitors are not asleep.
