Renault has unveiled a new budget hatchback called the Kwid. The car will be a global model of the brand, but in the first place will be on the Indian market.
It was expected that the car will get another name – Kayou, but at the last moment the company changed its mind and decided to keep the unusual name of the concept car shown in 2014.
Hatchback A-class is built on the platform CMF-A, which was developed by Renault with the participation of Nissan. Body length is 3680 mm, width – 1580 mm, ground clearance – 180 mm. the capacity of the car is not specified, but the manufacturer declares that the Kwid has the best performance in its class. The hatchback is designed to carry five passengers.
Под капотом автомобиля находится 0,8-литровый трехцилиндровый двигатель, работающий в паре с пятиступенчатой «механикой». Мощность, уровень расхода и динамические характеристики пока не раскрываются.
В салоне автомобиля установлена цифровая приборная панель, мультимедийная система с 7-ми дюймовым дисплеем.
В Индии автомобиль начнет продаваться во второй половине 2015 года по цене 300 – 400 тыс. рупий (232-310 тыс. рублей по текущему курсу).
