The government of the Russian Federation approved the list of medical contraindications to driving. In the list of diagnoses to banning in Russia to get behind the wheel, included not only epilepsy and blindness, but also of mental disorder, mental retardation, schizophrenia, personality disorder.
In the list of diseases was also achromatopsia (inability to see color), disorders associated with drug use and alcohol consumption, organic lesions of the brain.
As noted in the explanatory note to the decree of the Russian Government decisions aimed at reducing deaths resulting from road traffic accidents involving persons with diseases (States) which prevents the safe handling of the vehicle. The new rule should reduce the number of deaths in road accidents to 10 per 100 thousand population.
The Government decree also lists the diagnoses, limiting the ability to drive a car. For example, if a person is paralyzed, deformed or amputated foot, he may drive only a vehicle with hand controls.
If the person identified blindness in one eye, according to the decree, he can only operate a vehicle equipped with an acoustic Parking system.
