Interactive map of complaints on roads of Russia

Recently started a project called "Roads without problems." The project was organized by Public Council under the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia.

The project developed an interactive map, on which anyone can put a point where, in his opinion, the condition of roads leaves much to be desired where safety is not ensured neither the driver nor the pedestrians. If at the beginning the map was only two points (and the beginning of the project was 2 days ago), today appeared on the map almost 50 points.

What information can be put on the map

Anyone can put a point on the map, explaining the problem of this road section, starting from the pits, the lack of markings, malfunctioning traffic lights and lack of traffic signs, requirements to barriers on the sidewalks, so that pedestrians do not cross the road until you reach the transition, proposals for the establishment of pedestrian crossings, the requirements to differentiate flows.

 

For the first 4 months of 2015 due to adverse road conditions occurred 20 thousand accidents, which are 2450 people died and 25 thousand were injured.

However, not only the pit and the lack of markings, the reason for going on this map. If the devices fotovideofiksatsii installed with violations, lying, not calibrated, is also a reason to put a point on the map. Currently, it is very important, because again there were complaints about the photo and video surveillance. Drivers are again being punished for something they did not commit.

What are your complaints

Mostly, complaints are on the quality of the roadway, ditches, trenches, ruts, the lack of stormwater drainages. However, in connection with the construction of new alignments emerge new problems. For the construction of new roads need materials that are delivered by trucks. Overloaded trucks are on local roads not designed for such loads. As a result, until a new route is built, the local roads turn into off-road. For example, In the Novgorod region, says one of the locals, from the town of Borovichi to the highway Moscow – St.-Petersburg are not able to get even buses.

However on the map there are not only complaints but also suggestions for improvement of the traffic situation. For example, in Kazan, Vakhitova street has 4 lanes in each direction, but has practically no reversals. As a result, local residents living in a residential area along the streets, forced every day to make big journeys. Meanwhile, the problem can be quite simple to solve. Near pedestrian crossings, where the traffic lights installed, add an additional section to allow u-turns.

It is clear that the simple local inhabitant to deal with these problems, that is why was created such a project. To respond to the complaint will be not the local authorities, and representatives of the Public Council under the Ministry of internal Affairs. They will attract not only the traffic police, but the Prosecutor's office.

The Chairman of Public Council Anatoly Grigoryevich Kucherena said that as soon as the complaint is flagged in the project "Roads without problems", it is processed and sent to local working group. In 46 regions of the already formed working group of the project.

The principle of operation of the card

Anyone filling out a form reporting the issue. The message appears on the map as red dots. Once the complaint is handed over to the local working group, dot will turn yellow. Once the problem is resolved, dot will turn green.
