11 April. On our forum and in the comments on articles on our website, there often arises a question concerning these two interrelated topics - migration registration and the receipt of a patent.
Many foreign citizens arriving on the territory of the Russian Federation are wondering how to obtain a patent if the migration registration is overdue. Unfortunately this is not possible. The employee of the Main Administration of the Interior Ministry of the Russian Federation will not accept the documents if your registration (migration registration) is not valid, or, worse, after you find the delay, you will be brought to administrative responsibility.
We remind you that according to the current legislation every foreign citizen is obliged to take up migration registration in the first 7 days from the moment of arrival at the place of stay (except for citizens of Tajikistan - they have the right to register for migration within 15 days and citizens of the EEA for 30 days).

If for some reason you could not take up migration registration, but you want to work in Russia, then you should carry out a number of actions:
- go outside Russia;
- return to the territory of Russia;
- to register migration registration;
- to hand over a package of documents for a patent.
Important! For the registration of a patent, it is necessary to correctly issue a migration card. It must necessarily be the purpose of the visit "work". Be careful and fill out the migration card correctly.
Foreign citizens who received a patent and went abroad with the current patent should not forget about the registration for migration registration after the return, because at the border crossing the migration registration is automatically canceled.
