November 22. The investigation into the case of the former employee of the anti-corruption chapter of the MVD, Dmitry Zakharchenko, continues. As prosecutor Sergei Bochkarev said, the investigation continues to find money of dubious origin.
"As a prosecutor who oversees this criminal case, I can say that the investigation is continuing, from day to day we find all new amounts of money that, in our opinion, could not be legally acquired by citizens," Bochkarev told reporters in the Nikulinsky court Moscow, where the lawsuit of the General Prosecutor's Office on the circulation of the property of Dmitry Zakharchenko and his relatives is being continued.
The Prosecutor General's Office seeks to convert 27 real estate objects (apartments, car places located in elite Moscow districts), movable property (four cars registered to the relatives of the colonel and his former wives), as well as money in rubles and foreign currency in the amount of about 8 billion rubles and gold bullion, a total of property and cash of about 9 billion rubles. The Prosecutor General's Office believes that these values and property were obtained by Dmitry Zakharchenko from illegal sources.
Three court hearings have already been held to examine the merits of the claim, the two previous sessions (on Monday and Tuesday) lasted from 10 to 20 hours with short breaks. During this time, the parties twice stated their positions. In the court, 7 witnesses were questioned by the defense and about 10 volumes of case materials were examined. In the video communication mode, Colonel Dmitry Zakharchenko and his father Victor acted from the SIZO. The day before the judge stopped the meeting after the lawyer of one of the correspondents collapsed at 10 o'clock.
